This unique piece had a previous life in France.

The story: The cocktail ring was born with Prohibition in 1920. With the ban on the sale of alcohol in the United States, cocktails were born, a mixture of contraband alcohol, undrinkable on its own, with sugar and other ingredients to hide its taste. The bars called speakeasy, were mostly frequented by men and a few emancipated women, the Flapper girls. To draw attention to the hand holding the glass, the latter began to wear colorful and imposing rings far from the codes of the engagement ring.
