The story: The Egyptian scarab beetle, or sacred scarab beetle, is a powerful symbol in ancient Egypt as a symbol of rebirth and transformation. The scarab beetle is evocative of the sun crossing the sky, a process reflecting the cycle of life, death and resurrection. The scarab was often used as an amulet, believed to protect and bring good luck and spiritual renewal to the wearer. As a sun symbol, it was also associated with the god Khepri, who revived the sun every morning.
