Description

Sublime antique ring in 18-carat gold from the late nineteenth century adorned with three rows of fine seed pearls from pinkish beige to silvery gray, organized in two concentric halos. In the center of the latter, a bouquet of 7 fine white pearls with a delicately pink orient, come together on an open and chiseled bezel for a majestic and luminous effect. The three branches of the ring come together to form a single ring with three grooves. A delicate and rare ring, representative of French know-how from the end of the nineteenth to the beginning of the twentieth century.

This unique piece had a previous life in France.

The story: At the end of the nineteenth century, the pearl experienced a real golden age in France, driven by the influence of Empress Eugénie, whose taste for bright and refined jewelry inspired all high society. Fine pearls, symbols of elegance and purity, are then declined in floral motifs, rosettes and delicate halos, echoing the neo-Louis XVI style that she loves. At the same time, the Victorian aesthetic and the delicate creations of the Belle Époque encouraged the use of tiny seed beads, allowing for very fine paving. Before the arrival of cultured pearls in the 1920s, these natural pearls embodied the pinnacle of French refinement and the meticulousness of the jewelry know-how of the time.
