The story: Evocative and delicate, the shell motif draws its inspiration from the natural shapes of the sea, where each curve seems sculpted by time and tides. An ancient symbol of femininity, protection and rebirth, the shell has been present in ornamentation since Antiquity, particularly in the decorative arts and architecture. Particularly emblematic of the Rococo style in the eighteenth century, it adorned furniture, fountains and jewellery with its undulating and asymmetrical lines.
