This unique piece had a previous life in Italy.

The story: The horned hand pendant, also called “mano cornuto” in Italian, is a powerful apotropaic symbol from Mediterranean folk traditions, and particularly rooted in the culture of southern Italy. Representing a closed hand with only the index and little fingers raised, this ancestral gesture is supposed to repel the evil eye (malocchio) and protect its wearer from negative energies, jealousy and curses. Frequently worn as a gold or red coral pendant, this talisman was offered as a token of protection, often to children or travelers.
