Description

Sublime pendant from the 70s in 18-carat gold featuring a delicate composition of four fine and precious stones: two aquamarines and two 0.25-carat marquise-cut sapphires. Arranged in a losange shape in an airy floral pattern, the stones play on the contrast between the deep blue of the sapphires and the lagoon blue shades of the aquamarines. Their yellow gold prong settings emphasize the brilliance of the gems for a luminous, elegant and feminine composition.

The story: belonging to the beryl family like emeralds, aquamarines take their name from the Latin “aqua marina”, meaning “sea water”. Since ancient times, they have been considered protective talismans for sailors and lovers. Sapphires, on the other hand, belong to the corundum family and owe their name to the Greek “sappheiros”, meaning “blue stone”. Symbols of wisdom, fidelity and sincerity, they have adorned the jewellery of rulers for centuries. Together, these two birthstones, associated with the months of March and September respectively, celebrate harmony and lasting love.
