The story: The story: Amethyst, with its large palette of purple hues, is associated with the patron saint of lovers, Saint Valentine of Terni. This is how it became the birthstone of the month of February. According to tradition, this gemstone symbolizes love and loyalty, making it a popular gift to celebrate affection and romantic bonds. In Greek mythology, it was associated with sobriety because its name comes from the Greek word “amethystos”, which means “not drunk”.
