The story: the Claddagh ring is a traditional Irish ring dating back to the seventeenth century. It symbolizes love, loyalty and friendship. The ring originated in the small fishing village of Claddagh, located near the city of Galway in Ireland. The design of the ring features two hands holding a heart, with a crown on top of the heart. Legend has it that a young fisherman from the village of Claddagh was captured by pirates. Aboard their ship, for years, he learned the art of goldsmithing. Years later, when he returned to his native village, he gifted his sweetheart this ring he had made thanks to his new talents as a goldsmith.
