This unique piece had a previous life in France.
The story: The cocktail ring was born with prohibition in 1920. The United States ban on the sale of alcohol gave birth to cocktails, a mixture of smuggled alcohol, undrinkable alone, with sugar and other ingredients to hide its taste. The bars, called speakeasies, were mostly frequented by men and emancipated women: the Flapper girls. The latter, to draw attention to the hand that holds the glass, begin to wear colorful and imposing rings far from the codes of the engagement ring.
