The story: Among the four so-called “precious” stones (diamond, ruby, sapphire, emerald), the emerald has been distinguished since ancient times by its intense color and symbolism. Egyptian civilizations attributed regenerative powers to it, and Cleopatra herself made it one of her favorite stones, going so far as to exploit mines dedicated to her glory. Its name comes from the Greek smaragdus, simply meaning “green”.
The birthstone of the month of May, the emerald symbolizes fertility, rebirth, and harmony with nature—an ideal lucky charm for spring natives and anyone who succumbs to the charm of this legendary gem.
