Gold and lapis lazuli scarab pendant “Khepre”

Superb pendant from the 60s in 18-carat gold representing a finely chiseled scarab beetle, its shell formed by lapis lazuli inserts in deep blue shades speckled with gold. On the back of the coin is chiseled a plate of hieroglyphics in shiny gold. A three-dimensional piece, all in finely crafted details.
Length: 1.9cm with bail, 1.6cm without.

The story: The Egyptian scarab beetle, or sacred scarab beetle, is a powerful symbol in ancient Egypt as a symbol of rebirth and transformation. The scarab was often used as an amulet, believed to protect and bring good luck and spiritual renewal to the wearer. As a sun symbol, it was also associated with the god Khepri, who revived the sun every morning.
