This unique piece had a previous life in Britain.
The story: The bow motif has long been a symbol of femininity and elegance in British jewelry. Inspired by the decorative ribbons and textiles of aristocratic fashion, it first appeared in the 18th century but gained particular popularity during the Victorian era (1837–1901), where it symbolized love, friendship, and fidelity. Favored for its romantic charm, the bow appeared in brooches, pendants, and rings, often set with diamonds or colored gemstones. It saw a refined revival during the Edwardian era (1901–1910), taking on more delicate, airy forms in the graceful “garland style.” Timeless and rich in symbolism, the bow remains a beloved classic in British jewelry design.
