The story: Intense and flamboyant, the ruby has fascinated for centuries with its deep red, evoking both fire and blood, universal symbols of life and passion. Its name comes from the Latin rubeus, meaning “red,” a hue that has always been associated with power, ardent love, and nobility. Revered in many civilizations, ruby held a privileged place in Asia, where it was considered the “stone of kings”. In Burma, it was said to have protective virtues, with some warriors going so far as to encrust it in their skin to make themselves invincible. Over time, this gemstone has become a powerful symbol of courage, prosperity, and eternal passion.
