Gold and white sapphire necklace “Orielle”

Sublime necklace from the 70s in 18-carat yellow gold made up of a gold chain with Figaro mesh in the center of which is a motif of intertwined arabesques set with 10 brilliant-cut white sapphires of 0.025 carats each. A feminine and luminous piece where the brilliance of the sparkling stones contrasts harmoniously with the warmth of the yellow gold.

The story: 18-carat gold is characterized by the presence of 750 grams of gold for every 1000 grams of precious metal. Silver, copper and palladium complete this alloy in different proportions depending on the desired color. This ratio, which has become the standard for gold jewellery in France, allows for a perfect balance between the malleability of the material, which can thus be worked on sophisticated patterns, and resistance. Once cooled, the jewel is more resistant than a 24-carat gold jewel, less flexible and less prone to scratches.
