The story: The marquise ring, with its elongated oval shape and pointed ends, has its origins in the eighteenth century during the reign of Louis XV. According to legend, the king commissioned this cut in homage to the smile of his mistress, the Marquise de Pompadour. Very popular in the nineteenth century, especially during the Napoleonic era, this elegant ring was often adorned with diamonds or precious stones surrounded by a sparkling halo. Its main advantage is that it visually lengthens the finger, bringing a touch of refinement and elegance to the hand.
