Description
This new TransfÓ or transformation by ÓNÍSÌ PARIS is an old tie pin from the nineteenth century converted into a pendant with an invisible bail. The pendant consists of a round onyx plate on which is set a 0.1 carat rose-cut diamond in a prong setting. A chiseled gold border brings light and contrast to the onyx, which is also retained as a claw. A unique piece where the contrast of yellow gold and black onyx is highlighted by the whiteness of the diamond.

The story: Onyx is a fine stone whose symbolism is rooted in inner strength and protection. Used since ancient times, it was prized by the Romans to carve cameos and seals, due to its marked contrast and hardness. In the Victorian traditions of the nineteenth century, black onyx became a mourning stone, worn as a sign of memory and gravity, often set in gold or silver jewelry. It experienced a revival in the Art Deco years, where its graphic elegance and deep black matched perfectly with the clean lines of the movement. As an anchoring symbol, onyx is still associated with emotional stability and discreet strength today.
