The story: Emblematic of the 40s, tank rings owe their origin to the troubled period that Europe was going through. Gold was an increasingly rare and coveted material, just like precious stones, which were almost disappearing from the market. This is why people started melting their possessions into gold for safe keeping, in the form of a ring that was easy to carry around. Tank rings present heavy and imposing shapes and their patterns are reminiscent of tank tracks. This ring, can also be called a “bridge” ring because of the arches on the top of the ring, evoking a bridge.
