Stunning pair of 18k gold 50s earrings featuring a domed trapezoid pattern with a shimmering finish. The feminine and sophisticated pair of earrings par excellence, very “old Hollywood” and glamorous. Secured by a butterfly clasp and lighter than they seem thanks to their “blown construction”, they can be worn every day and be forgotten.

The story: In the 1950s, domed gold earrings were very successful and were worn as symbols of modern refinement. Influenced by the Hollywood elegance of actresses such as Grace Kelly and Lauren Bacall, this sculptural and minimalist aesthetic appealed to working women in the post-war period, in search of assertive but practical jewellery, often worn on a daily basis, especially at work. The geometric shapes, a reflection of modernist design, were a perfect match for the structured fashion and uptight hairstyles typical of the decade.
