Description
Sublime 18k yellow gold ring from the 40s in the shape of a snake whose eyes are formed by two 0.1 carat marquise-cut sapphires of a sublime deep blue, just like the sapphire adorning the head, a pear-shaped of 0.3 carats. The tip of the snake’s head and tail as well as the border of its head are set with 8 diamonds of 0.01 carats, bringing sparkle and contrast to this jewel with its bewitching charm and universal symbolism to wrap around one’s finger without further delay.

The Story: the snake is a highly symbolic animal in many cultures, and has been since ancient times. It was then associated with eternal youth but also with renewal, due to the perpetual moulting of the snake. In India and South Asia, it is associated with abundance and by extension, fertility. In Egypt, it was a royal and divine symbol linked to immortality but also to wisdom. Whatever symbolism you choose to retain, the snake is an aesthetic motif with universal symbolism.
