Description
Sublime in 18-carat gold dating from the late 1970s, formed by an angular shoulder ring centering a rectangular pavé. The latter features a sublime oval ultramarine sapphire in east-west orientation in a prong setting and weighing 0.4 carats and surrounded by a paving of 10 16*16 diamonds in grain setting. With its elegant and assertive lines, this piece perfectly illustrates the architectural lines and bold elegance of the modernist style of the period.

This unique piece had a previous life in France.
The story: In the 1970s and 1980s, French jewelry adopted resolutely geometric and architectural lines. Heirs to modernist audacity, these jewels often combine warm yellow gold, two-tone contrasts and colored stones with refined shapes. Sapphire, which was very popular at the time, was often combined with a diamond frame to create graphic and elegant compositions. These rings, both structured and luminous, embody the French taste for contemporary sophistication, where the purity of the shapes dialogues with the brilliance of the gems.
