The story: Born in the wake of the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts, the Art Deco movement celebrates formal audacity and geometric elegance. While white metals such as platinum or chromium dominated the industrial aesthetic of the time, some designers retained their attachment to yellow gold, inscribing it in a modern vocabulary by associating it with brightly colored precious stones. The contrast between the warmth of gold and the rigour of stylized lines embodies a sunny and opulent version of Art Deco, where the richness of materials dialogues with the structure of forms.
