The Art Deco movement owes its name to the Universal Exhibition of 1925 entitled “International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts”. It is characterized by its geometric designs reminiscent of the industry (screws, bolts, gears).

White gold, platinum, chrome and silver are also characteristic of the period. Yellow gold, previously very popular with jewelers is substituted for these “white” materials, more in the industrial aesthetics of the movement.

Color is also in the spotlight through multicolored gems such as ruby, sapphire, and emerald.

Finally, diamonds are still prized, especially enhanced by the whiteness of platinum and white gold frames.
