Description

Sublime Art Deco ring from the 30s in 18-carat gold featuring a sublime 0.5-carat oval-cut sapphire in bezel setting, haloed by a first halo of 12 sublime 0.02-carat brilliant-cut diamonds and 14 baguette-cut of 0,02 carat sapphires for a most striking effect. This motif is centred on two branches coming together in a grooved band, to form a sumptuous piece that sublimates the deep blue of the sapphire by the contrast between the warmth of the yellow gold and the whiteness of the diamonds.
Size: FR 52 / UK M / US 6
Weight: 3.32g

This unique piece had a previous life in Italy.
The story: Sapphire takes its name from the ancient Greek “sappheiros,” meaning “blue stone.” For millennia, this gemstone has symbolized royalty, wisdom, and loyalty. Used in the jewelry of the pharaohs of Egypt and prized by European kings, sapphire was also believed to protect against negative energies and bring inner peace. One of the most famous sapphires is Princess Diana’s 12-karat sapphire, mounted on an engagement ring now worn by Kate Middleton. A symbol of loyalty and fidelity, the stone of the natives of September also has a hardness of 9 (out of 10) on the Mohs scale. Sapphire is therefore an extremely scratch-resistant gem, making it a preferred choice for engagement rings, worn on a daily basis.
