The story: Since ancient times, the anchor has been a universal symbol of stability, hope, and security. Very present in the maritime iconography of the nineteenth century, it reflected the importance of naval trade, long-distance voyages and the deep link between men and the sea. In the symbolic language of the time, the anchor embodied faithfulness, attachment and the ability to stand firm in the face of hardship. This motif was a great success in jewelry during the Victorian era, where it adorned pendants, brooches and bracelets offered as tokens of affection or souvenirs of travels.
