Description

This exceptional photo locket from the end of the nineteenth century in 18-carat rose gold presents a succession of motifs worked with incredible finesse. On a medal made up of panels arranged in a fan shape forming an elongated sun, a bouquet of daisies and foliage is delicately chiselled in relief. One of the branches of the bouquet, reminiscent of lily of the valley, is set with fine pearls, just like the heart of the daisy. The bail, wide enough to carry the pendant on a gold or pearl chain, is in the shape of an arrowhead. An absolutely stunning piece, ready to start a new life.
Dimensions: Length 2.8cm without bail, 4.5cm with bail – Width: 2cm
Weight: 4.31g
Eagle hallmark
This unique piece had  previous life in France.

The story: Photo lockets belong to the family of sentimental jewelry, dedicated to celebrating a loved one. Known in the United Kingdom as “Forget me not” and popularized by Queen Victoria, they contain a compartment to hold the photo of your loved one. This medallion, made of pink gold and decorated with fine pearls, is both typical of the style of the Bonaparte era (end of the nineteenth century) and original for the time, due to the rectilinear pattern of the fan panels, more popular at the beginning of the twentieth century.
