Description
Beautiful pair of earrings from the early twentieth century, with a style reminiscent of sleepers but with lever clasp, in 18 carat gold and white sapphires. The buckle is formed of two parts, a line of 3 white sapphire shards in a grain setting on white gold to which a second 0.2 carat white sapphire is attached like a fixed tassel. A classic and sophisticated piece that catches the light in a phenomenal way.
Dimensions: 2.5cm X 0.6cm
Weight: 2,20g
Eagle’s head hallmarks.
This unique piece had a previous life in France.
The story: In the nineteenth century, most women owned a small pair of earrings called sleepers, because they could be worn in bed without risk of damage. This pair features the aesthetics of the sleeper style but features a clamshell clasp that closes at the back of the ear and not the front, as is typically the case with sleepers.
