Description

Sumptuous ring from the 40s in 18-carat gold formed by a sublime 0.5-carat oval-cut indigo blue sapphire in a claw setting haloed with 5 diamonds of 0.0.1 carat in grain setting on white gold. This contrasting motif is centred on a gadrooned ring with alternating gold lines on either side, set with 3 brilliant-cut sapphires measuring 0.02, white gold with a frosted finish set with an 8X8 diamond and finally a line of 3 brilliant-cut sapphires weighing 0.01 carat. A piece of jewelry that captures the light and the eyes as much by its magnificent play of contrasts as by the details of its design.

The story: The Greeks already knew about sapphire in 480 BC, which they imported from Sri Lanka, hence the fame of the “Ceylon Sapphires”. Since then, many cultures have adopted it, such as the Catholic Church, for whom the celestial color of sapphire represents a closeness to the kingdom of God. In Asia, Buddhists dedicate the stone to the gods, a guide in meditation and a bearer of peace and happiness.
