This unique piece had a previous life in France.

The story: the Verneuil sapphire is a fascinating stone, born of the scientific genius of the nineteenth century. Developed by the French chemist Auguste Verneuil in 1902, this revolutionary process makes it possible to create synthetic sapphires from molten aluminium oxide, identically reproducing the chemical composition and brilliance of natural sapphire. At the time, these stones were widely used in Art Deco jewelry, making colorful jewelry more accessible. The Verneuil sapphire thus embodies the spirit of innovation and modernity, while retaining the traditional symbolism of the sapphire: wisdom, fidelity and protection.
