This unique piece had a previous life in France.
The story: Hoop earrings or creole earrings take their name from the fact that at the time of slavery, they were the only jewel that slaves in the West Indies were allowed to wear. They have become a strong symbol of identity for the black community. This symbolism continued in the United States in the 70s with the Black Panthers who made it their accessory of choice, but also singers such as Dona Summers or Gloria Gaynor. Finally, in the pop culture of early 2000, singers such as Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez made it their jewel of choice, firmly anchoring this jewel in the repertoire of classics.
