This unique piece had a previous life in the UK.

The story: This ring is particularly representative of the Victorian era (1840-1900) because it honors Queen Victoria’s favorite stone: turquoise. For her marriage in 1840 to Prince Albert, she even gave each of her ladies-in-waiting a special ring as a gift. The latter represented her hand-painted portrait, haloed with turquoises cut in cabochon. In addition, her position as an influential figure helped spread the trend of turquoise jewelry throughout the British Empire and beyond.
