The story: Taking its name from the 1925 Universal Exhibition entitled “International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts”, the Art Deco movement is characterized by its geometric designs reminiscent of the industrial world (screws, bolts, gears). White gold, platinum, chrome and silver are also characteristic of the period, during which yellow gold, previously very popular with jewelers, was substituted for these “white” materials, more in the industrial aesthetics of the movement.
