Description

Sublime tank ring from the 40s in 18-carat yellow gold with an original design: the band is centered by a concave shimmering gold disc set with a modern 0.1-carat brilliant-cut diamond facing a triangular white gold motif set with 5 rose-cut diamonds from 0.05 for the 3 smallest to 0.2 carats for the 2 largest. This central circular motif is enhanced on one side by a white gold shoulder set with two 0.2-carat rose-cut diamonds marrying a 0.04-carat rose-cut diamond. An exceptional piece where the fire of diamonds and the brilliance of gold attract light and attention.

This unique piece had a previous life in France.

The story: Emblematic of the 40s, tank rings owe their origin to the troubled period that Europe was going through at the time. Gold is a material that is increasingly rare and coveted, just like precious stones, which are almost disappearing from the market. You then melt your possessions in gold, a safe haven, in the form of a ring that is easy to carry with you. Tank rings offer heavy, imposing shapes and their patterns are reminiscent of tank tracks. This ring, with its rounded shapes, offers a clever mix of the art deco style and the tank ring.
