The story: Diamonds help us define the era of antique jewelry, as their size has evolved over time. From the handcrafted rose-cut diamonds of the sixteenth century to the ancient cut diamonds of the nineteenth century to the modern 57-facet brilliant-cut diamond, laser-cut for optimal light reflection, the diamond can betray the age of the jewels. That being said, this pendant from the late 20s features rose-cut diamonds and an old-cut diamond, a fairly classic mix of the time and distinctive of today’s modern-cut diamonds.
