This unique piece had a previous life in France.

The Story: In the nineteenth century, most women owned a small pair of earrings called sleepers, because they could be worn to bed without risk of damage. Also, it was often the first pair of earrings given to young girls after piercing their ears because they could keep them on day and night, thus preventing the holes from closing.
