The story: The Claddagh ring is a traditional Irish ring dating back to the XVII. It symbolizes love (the heart), loyalty (the crown) and friendship (the hands). This ring design originated in the small fishing village of Claddagh, located near the city of Galway in Ireland. The design of the ring features two hands holding a heart, with a crown on top of the heart. Those whose heart is taken will wear it with the heart facing the body while those whose heart is for the taking will wear the ring with the heart facing outward.
