Description

Sublime 18-carat gold Art Deco ring set with 3 square-cut sapphires of approximately 0.1 carat each. Surrounded by an arabesque-patterned ring, these sapphires are embraced by two white gold lines each set with a 0.01-carat brilliant diamond. A refined and elegant piece, ready to start a new life.
Size: FR 56 / UK P / US 7.5
Weight: 3.54g
Eagle’s head hallmark.
This unique piece had a previous life in France.

The story: Taking its name from the 1925 World’s Fair titled “International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts,” the Art Deco movement is characterized by its geometric designs reminiscent of industry (no screws, nuts, gears). The period is also characterized by the use of colored stones and materials as well as opulent gilding, especially in architecture. While white metals found favour with the jewellers of the time, yellow gold did not disappear completely and continued to exalt the imagination of goldsmiths, as shown in this incredible ring.
